When is Disneyland least crowded?

For the next two weeks, we compare estimates based on recent wait history. Further ahead, the calendar uses weekday, holiday, and event rules. Those rules have not been tested against a full year of crowd data.

Check each date’s explanation, estimated range, park hours, and events. Two dates with different ratings could still feel much the same. Current ride waits show one moment in time.

ABOUT THE ESTIMATES

How we estimate crowds

Each date shows which information we have and where we have had to make assumptions.

Read the full method →
  1. 1. Check the sources

Completed-day posted waits, operating schedules, and dated public announcements.

  2. 2. Calculate an estimate

Recent comparable days for the next two weeks; separate weekday, holiday and event rules beyond them.

  3. 3. Explain the result

We show the crowd level, sources, confidence, and results from our small set of historical checks.

Early historical checks — small sample, not proven accuracy

Early historical checks, including the baseline

These are expanding-window hindcasts: each held-out day uses only earlier days, including basket selection. They are not forecasts saved before those dates occurred. Three checks per park are too few to claim accuracy or superiority.

Disneyland Park

6 completed history days · 11-attraction sample.

Short-range historical check: 3 held-out days. Mean error 11.3 min; simple prior-day mean baseline 11.2 min.

The annual outlook uses separate calendar rules and has not been backtested. This tiny short-range check does not validate annual predictions.

Attractions in the short-range sample
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Haunted Mansion Holiday
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Matterhorn Bobsleds
  • Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • Peter Pan's Flight
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Space Mountain
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  • Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Disney California Adventure

6 completed history days · 9-attraction sample.

Short-range historical check: 3 held-out days. Mean error 8.3 min; simple prior-day mean baseline 10 min.

The annual outlook uses separate calendar rules and has not been backtested. This tiny short-range check does not validate annual predictions.

CHOOSING YOUR DAY

When is Disneyland least crowded?

There is no weekday we can reliably call the quietest yet. We need more historical data to establish that. Compare the dates you can visit, then check the events, park hours, and confidence shown for each one.

Disneyland crowd calendar questions

Answers about the data and your visit.

Does this calendar use real data?

The next two weeks use real completed-day wait records from ThemeParks.wiki. Later dates use our provisional weekday, holiday/school-break, and park-event rules. The event dates are sourced facts; their crowd effects are unvalidated assumptions. Current waits and observed history are labeled separately.

What is the least crowded day of the week?

We do not have enough validated historical analysis to name one. School calendars, events, ride operations, and ticket-holder patterns can change conditions. No weekday is guaranteed to be quiet.

Does a short posted wait mean the park is quiet?

No. Posted waits vary by attraction, capacity, downtime, and time of day. Our snapshot median summarizes the operating attractions reporting waits; it does not measure park attendance or predict the whole day.

How accurate are future predictions?

The short-range model has only a tiny historical check, shown above with a simple-average baseline. The annual calendar rules have not been backtested. All estimates have low or very low confidence; there is no claimed accuracy percentage.

How often is the data updated?

The page labels its retrieval time and each ride’s last-changed timestamp. Use “Refresh observations” to request an update; attempts are limited to one per five minutes in this browser tab. If the feed fails, the existing snapshot stays labeled. The daily forecast runner checks connected event sources and rebuilds estimates. Ride observations and available hours refresh separately on a 15-minute schedule when WordPress tasks run. Source checks can fail, so retained event dates keep their verification status.

Does this cover both Disneyland parks?

Yes. Switch between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure above. Each park has its own operating schedule and observations. Comparing their snapshot medians does not prove which park will feel busier.

Why do some dates have no information?

Recent-history estimates cover the next 14 days. Later dates through the following calendar year use a very-low-confidence planning outlook. Snapshots expire after 48 hours without a successful refresh; missing operating hours do not mean a closed park. Our event list is limited to the verified announcements shown here. “No listed event” does not mean nothing is happening.

Are you affiliated with Disney?

No. This is an independent planning project, not affiliated with or endorsed by The Walt Disney Company or ThemeParks.wiki.

About this site

We built DailyCrowdCalendar.com to help visitors compare dates at the two Anaheim parks. Our short-range estimates use historical posted ride waits. For later dates, we use weekday, holiday, and event rules. You can read the calculations and our early test results on the method page. We still need more data to know how well these estimates predict future crowds.
